This year’s NRAA Queens was held at Belmont from the 20th to the 24th of June. The weather was fine with challenging but readable wind. Eleven Ipswich Shooters flew the club colours. Note worthy performances were from new shooter Rohan B running 2nd in the F standard B and Alex M whose first Queens in a coat saw him run 4th in TR C. All other members who attended the event shot well in their respective grades and we look forward to seeing more top Ipswich performances in the QRA Queens in August.

Congratulations to Ipswich shooters Damien, Tony and Glenn who secured 1st in FB, 2nd in TRB and 3rd in FA respectively in the Muckadilla prize meet. The 3 day shoot was held over the Labour day long weekend. Sharp wind changes and country mirage made for some testing conditions. As always the Ipswich shooters showed their class and performed exceptionally. The Ipswich rifles are showing good form with the National and State titles just around the corner.
IDRC would like to thank all of its supporters and participants for an incredible 2017. The club competition will take a break during December and January. If you have an inquiry please don’t hesitate to contact us via e-mail. We will endeavor to get back to you when we can, but please be mindful that our volunteers may be busy enjoying the break until club activites resume in February. We sincerely hope you all enjoy the holidays and join us again in early February 2018.
It has been 70 years since club activities resumed in June/July after the end of WWII. It has also been 70 years this week since Jack Meekin’s story was first published. Take some time to discover one of our Clubs fine Riflemen in ‘The Meekin Story‘.
A very successful rimfire shoot was held on Saturday. With a group of about 10 members attending, competition was fierce. The day was very well organised and ran smoothly. We look forward with anticipation for the next one.
